Heat Pumps
Heat Pumps functional in a similar manner to airconditioners, pulling heat out of the air and using it to heat the water contained within the tank. Heat pumps are an expensive option, however they use far less electricity than a standard storage tank and are often installed when there is no access to gas or a requirement for environmentally friendly practices.
Their ability to pull heat from the air declines in cool weather, as such recovery time and overall effectiveness are negatively impacted during the cooler months of the year.
Unfortunatley these units generate noise due to the fan systems, and also draft which may be an issue.
